Lotta Ericson

LOTTA

Lotta left Sweden and moved to Dahab in late 2003 and started FDD in 2004. Back then seeing a freediver in Dahab was a rarity. That is how she became friends with Linda, and the two of them had no other choice than start training together. Freediving back then was a very small and unknown sport and the request for courses was very small, so she had the time to train intensely and she broke the Static World Record in 2004. Lotta had also most of the Swedish Records for a long time, until Freedive Dahab became a busy freediving center and she had not time for training. Lotta is also a AIDA B judge and has judged many competitions and world record attempts. Lotta is now mainly training new AIDA and SSI instructors.

LINDA

Linda is Italian, and she started freediving in late 2002, when she moved to Dahab, but only started competing in 2005 just because she wanted to beat Lotta. During her first competition she broke 3 Italian depth records (but didn't beat Lotta for only 1 point because -Linda claims- Lotta bribed the judges). She kept breaking her own records until 2007, when she gave up competing. She is still holding the Italian records in CWT, CNF, FIM and VW. Since 2007 she has been teaching full time, mainly training new SSI instructors. Linda is also specialized in teaching deep equalization techniques. Now she only attends competitions as Judge or safety freediver. She judged both Depth and Indoor Worldchampionships 2011.

Jacques de Vos

JACQUES

Jacques used to be a very enthusiastic scuba diver, until he did his first freediving course and soon after decided he was going to become a freediving instructor.Since 2010 he is a SSI and AIDA instructor and a AIDA judge. Jacques is also a very talented photographer and he discovered that taking picture while breath holding is more rewarding and allows a closer encounter with marine life. All the pictures in FDI and FDD websites are his. You can also visit his website here. Jacques spends part of his time in Dahab working with Freedive Dahab, and the rest in Cape Town, South Africa, running Freedive Cape Town, teaching freediving and taking people diving with sharks and seals.

DREA

Drea is from Sweden but livedin Dahab for several years. This was where she first met Linda and eventually begun freediving with her in 2006. She started working with FREEDIVE DAHAB already in 2006. Now you will mostly be in contact with her by email, since she is taking care of all our bookings while we are busy in the water! THANK YOU ANDREA! She still pops up in Dahab from time to time, so if you get lucky you might even meet her.
